Wanaka Golf Club is friendly and accessible, with a very active programme of tournaments and other events. Social/Business House golf is played throughout the summer months, and there are weekly 9 and 18 hole events for men and women. The club also has an active social calendar with the cafe & bar open from 10 – 6 most days.
Club Facilities
Bar & Cafe– opening hours usually 10am to 6pm on club days (Tuesday-Saturday) DURING CHRISTMAS SCHOOL HOLIDAY TIME, CAFE AND BAR IS OPEN 7 DAYS.
Catering – breakfast, lunch and a wide range of snacks are available
Practice range – Open all hours to the public – if you have pre-purchased tokens for the ball machine from the Pro shop
Short Course – In 2021 the new 5 hole short course was opened. It is designed for chipping and putting practice and for new golfers to have a go. For more information on its layout and features, go to The Course page.
Pro Shop – Fully stocked with golfing products open 8am to 6pm each day. Opening hours are longer in summer, shorter in winter.

Structure
The Club is governed by a board of directors. Four directors are appointed by members and the member elected positions of Women’s and Men’s Club Captains and President are appointed to the board ex officio.
The Club employs an Administration Manager and a Course Superintendent who report to the Board.
The Players Committee and all other club Committees report to the Board.
The Club employs a Food & Beverage Manager, Bar & Café Staff, Assistant Manager and Greens Staff. The Pro Shop is outsourced.

Strategy
The Club’s strategy centres around gradually improving our “Holiday Course” for members and visitors enjoyment at affordable prices. The course will be enhanced in sympathy with the unique natural landscape.
It will continue to be a test for a fine golfer. The strategy is underpinned by improvement action plans and a marketing plan.
